Wally Dug Industries is a project by me, Mark Day, a writer and artist who grew up in Bishopbriggs, just outside Glasgow, Scotland.

I've come a long way.

Having lived in America for over two decades, Wally Dug Industries is a humorous exploration of my relationship with my own Scottish identity, which is both rooted in my childhood and evident every time I open my mouth.

It's drawing on memories of grandparents' house (a flat in Cowcaddens), where Wally Dugs sat regally on either end of the mantlepiece. Of Scottish television. Of Billy Connolly telling stories on vinyl records. Of my Dad and his hoarding habits. And other stuff.
